You Are Welcome Here

Today I am joining Lisa-Jo and friends for Five Minute Friday.
This is where we come together writing for 5 minutes without editing or overthinking.
I love this community.

Check out what everyone's is sharing on the word WELCOME here.

Five Minute Friday

You are welcome here.
Something deep down inside our souls longs to hear those words.
No matter how we come to the door.
Hungry for community.
Wanting so much for someone to say
"I totally get that. You aren't as crazy as you feel."
We might come broken.
We might come afraid.
But we come.
Seeking. Longing.
For someone. For something.
More.
You are welcome here.
How powerful those words are.
They say...
No matter what.
The door is open.
Arms are open.
You can be you here.
Let us love you.
Right where you are.
How you are.
Who you are.

Therefore welcome one another
as Christ has welcomed you,
for the glory of God.
Romans 15:7

  2. "You aren't as crazy as you feel."

I love this. It reminds me of that quote by C.S. Lewis -- “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”

  10. I love it! Especially poignant as we are having a house full this weekend. But, it is as much about open arms and heart as open doors. If you don't have the love, having the doors open isn't quite as nice.

  18. I've been looking for the "real" all of my life. I'm learning now that you can't have the real if you don't have Him. When I started truly looking for Him, He sent me the people I had been looking for on my own.

  23. I just stopped by from 5 min. Fridays (something I am new to) and this post stood out to me the most of all of the ones I read :) Actually, it's funny but your verse at the end spoke to me because it pretty much sums up how I ended my 5 min. friday this week but in words straight from the bible. For some reason I don't recall this verse from Romans, and am in awe at how God speaks to us because I wasn't aware of this verse when writing my post and yet similar words (to the bible verse)came to me. This verse you wrote just makes it even more clear. Pretty cool! I loved your version of welcome by the way. It is wonderful and is exactly the way community should be. If only we could all feel welcomed with open arms such as this-in any circumstance. I do think that is why a lot of people shy away from connecting. Feeling they may not be accepted as they are-quirks and all. I will have to follow you on here :)
