Sundays with My Girls

Each week I am blessed to serve in our children's ministry as a small group leader with 4th and 5th grade girls.

Today I was especially blessed as the 3rd grade girls joined us for small group time.

We began just like we do every week by catching up on what's happening in their worlds. They shared stories of family adventures, fun in the sun, and even a birthday party this past week.

We all got to celebrate as one of the girls asked Jesus
to be her Forever Friend this past week.
YAY! PRAISE GOD!
This led to a discussion of what it means to be saved. Instead of me giving them the answer, I wanted to hear them share with each other what it means to them.

Listened to them share these sweet words...

"Jesus is forever in my heart. I talk to Him all the time."
"I'm not alone anymore. He's always with me."
"Now I get to be in heaven with Him. How cool is that?"
"Can you believe that He loved us that much? To DIE?
I mean...really. That's a lot of love."

Oh my heart. How I love these girls.

We then talked about the coming week ahead and shared prayers requests. One of my favorite things about my time with them is getting to pray with, for, and over them.
 Sometimes it breaks my heart into tiny little pieces to hear them praying for each other with such tender words; believing for each other that God can do anything.

I am so incredibly blessed to be a part of their lives
and to spend each Sunday with them.
