Every year the Orange Conference partners with social justice organizations to increase awareness and invite involvement.
Here are the social justice partners for this year.
Discovering
Opportunities for Outreach and
Reflection (DOOR) is a faith-based network of six cities that
provides opportunities for service, learning and leadership development within
the urban context. We highlight the
strengths of our cities, as well as the needs. We believe this is best
accomplished through collaboration, mutuality and partnership.
Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have
experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoe box gifts from Operation
Christmas Child. Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry
partners to deliver the gifts and share the life-changing Good News of Jesus
Christ.
Rice Bowls is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide food for orphans
in the name of Christ. Since rice is a dietary staple for much of the world, this design reminds us of
those in need around the world. Our partner orphanages are rescuing children, giving them a chance at life —
abundant life at that. They are sharing the love of Jesus as they meet their
physical and emotional needs. We get to be a part of this incredible
transformation through providing for them physically with food.
The 410 Bridge partner's people and organizations with communities in Kenya & Haiti,
building a bridge that utilizes our God given gifts to serve one another. Our strategy is to empower local leaders to identify and implement sustainable solutions to
the physical and spiritual needs within their community.
Land of a Thousand Hills has reached beyond the borders of Rwanda to bring
dignity and hope to Haiti, Thailand, and other parts of the globe. We partner
with farmers and local community leaders to develop the coffee into a
sustainable income, pay a just Living Wage, and strive to further meet the needs
of the people. When you buy Land of a Thousand Hills, you are receiving coffee
that is 100% Arabica, fairly traded, and roasted fresh. Your excellent morning
cup is offering hope to these developing coffee communities with each purchase.
One of the things I love doing at the Orange Conference is chatting with someone from each of these organizations. It is a beautiful thing to hear how God is working in them and through them as they serve others.
Please take a moment and visit them while you are at Orange. Hear their God stories. Encourage them. Maybe you will end up getting involved or maybe you will join them in prayer, but you will be forever changed.
Blessings,
