I Know

Today I am joining Lisa-Jo and friends for Five Minute Friday.
This is where we come together writing for 5 minutes without editing or overthinking.
I love this community.

Check out what everyone's is sharing on the word BARE here.

Five Minute Friday

You go through something so hard. So hard that you fear it will break you. And it does. Your heart shatters into tiny pieces. You cry and you rage and you can't possibly understand how God could allow it to happen. You scream from somewhere deep in your soul...WHY? Someone says...something good will come of it. Something. Some day. You can't wrap your head around that at all. You are broken. Little by little He puts the pieces of your heart back together, but you walk wounded for too long. You're forever changed. But you stop asking why. You stop asking Him what good could come from it. You can't grasp that during the healing. It is too much to bear.

A few years later you're sitting around the table with other moms. And she bares her heart and leaks all over you. In that one moment it hits you. This. This is part of why. You listen to her pain and you know deep in the part of you that stopped asking why that some day has come. You offer up a prayer asking Him to give you the words. And only two words come...I know. And in the speaking of those two words you know exactly why you were broken.

We know that God causes everything to work together for the good
of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Romans 8:28

  8. I love this Wendy. And it is my story. There are so many places I couldn't understand. So much pain that I still don't fully comprehend but I see that I can look at others and just know. I just know when our pain and torn edges match up. And it is a gift to be used by God to comfort with the comfort I have received. I love that you always want to use every last bit and piece to serve Him. Love you, friend.

  18. Dear, dear Wendy
I felt a little fear tugging at my heart reading your post for I know that utterly lost feeling in the midst of unbearable pain. To much to even ask why, only to realize later that He was preparing you to be the comfort of another in the future!
    Much love to you
    Mia

  20. Yes! I love this. I try so desperately in times like that to remember that every unbearable heartache He is able to bare and I need him. A life without pain seems very tempting, but like you said, what comfort would we be to others and how would we really see God working in our lives? Beautiful post. I love this feature and will have to jump on board sometime in the very near future.

  21. So true. We never go through a trial without there being a purpose behind it. We often don't see it at the time, but then God puts someone in our path who needs our understanding and we have it. Great post!

  22. Wendy, this is so sacred, holy and profound. I need to speak I know more often...from those places of pain. What a simple balm those two words are. Thank you. Just thank you.
