My Love Bug

Today I am joining Lisa-Jo and friends for Five Minute Friday.
This is where we come together writing for 5 minutes without editing or overthinking.
I love this community.

Check out what everyone's is sharing on the word CHERISHED here.

Five Minute Friday

My littlest man is a love bug.
The way he expresses himself is definitely a combination of touch and words.
He will cross the room just to put a hand on my shoulder and give a kiss.
And oh how he says "Mommy" with the smile that makes his whole face light up.
He loves to crawl up on the couch beside me for a cuddle. He just fits perfectly against my side.
He holds my hand when we walk anywhere together. He wants our fingers intertwined.
He is free with his "love yous" and even more so with the hugs to go with.
I can't help but feel cherished whenever he is near.
I so love his sweet heart.
Each moment etched on my heart.

What a gift to watch him grow
in those expressions of love.
My little love bug.

If we love each other, God lives in us,
and his love is brought to full expression in us.

  2. Wendy, oh, how this makes me smile--your darling boy! He is precious. I can just imagine that smile, that light in Him that wraps you up in the Father's love! Thank you for the glimpse into pieces of moments that are your gift! Bless you this weekend, friend. :)

  3. That's wonderful. I really 'see' what you're writing about. My Bunny is getting older now, and wants her independence - sniff. In from SITS.

    1. Thanks! I know what you mean as my two older sons want that cuddle time a whole lot less these days. Blessings!

  4. Well now... that just has me all misty remembering... My little man used to do that (He is 16 now) so the cherishing is more of an arms length kind. He may not hold my hand any more or snuggle up against my side but he cleans a dirty kitchen, sorts my tupperware drawer and showers love and affection on our dog Charlie. Those things, they still make me feel cherished by him.

  8. Such a gift... to have little ones who freely love! Our girlie is at the age (nearing college life!) where many of her friends are counting the days until they can escape... and yet she? She cuddles and clings and freely uses her words to express her love and security in who she is now... in who we are together and in how thankful she is for those facts! One of my favorite most cherished things she says - even over the past year or so when things were not as charmed as they may have looked... she would say, "I love you, but I like you too!" This - coming from a teen - is such a gift! Blessings to you and your boy... may he never outgrow cuddles and hand holding with his precious precious Mama!
