Preschoolers are little sponges.
They see everything. They hear everything. They imitate everything.
We need to be very intentional in making sure that we are pouring into them
and that they are absorbing God's Word even at this young age.
Gil Beers, the author of The Preschooler's Bible, says this:
"What we do TO, FOR, WITH these children will
determine what they become.
Our goal is to grow children God’s way to help them
become God’s people."
The Preschooler's Bible is written and illustrated
specifically with four and five years old children in mind.
There are 101 Bible stories included, each one written with the learning level and attention span of preschoolers considered. It also enables parents and children to engage in conversation about each story as it is very interactive.
One of the things I love about this Bible is that it is written in a preschooler's language. Not only is it easy to understand when it is read to them, but it is also easy enough that they can learn to read it themselves.
The illustrations done by Tammie Lyon are beautiful.

We bought Ciena a children's Bible from Costco for Easter. It's actually her first Bible on her reading level. As she was looking through it at church one Sunday I noticed how NAKED Adam and Eve were. Not much leaf covering was happening there! It made my husband laugh. As for me, well, I laugh now too.
ReplyDeleteThis looks perfect for my niece's birthday coming up. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry--my 4 year old LOVES the story of Joshua and Jericho. It involved marching and being "sneaky" (aka quiet) and being loud and horns and tumbling down... It has it all! ;)
