Yummy in Their Tummy - Baked Ziti

My boys have asked that I share
their favorite meal that I make for them.
It is so easy to make and they love it.

Baked Ziti

Ingredients:

2 - 16oz. boxes of ziti
1 - 8oz. package of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 - 8oz. package of sliced mozzarella cheese
1 - 15oz. container of ricotta cheese
2 - 24oz. cans of sauce

Boil both boxes of ziti until tender.

In a large bowl mix the sauce, shredded mozzarella, and ricotta cheese.

Put the ziti into a casserole dish. This recipe actually makes 2 pans.

Next put sauce and cheese mixture into the dish
with the ziti and stir until all pasta is covered.

Take mozzarella slices and cover the ziti in the casserole dish.

Set your oven to 350 and bake until cheese is melted to your taste.
My boys like the cheese to still be gooey so that takes usually about 15 minutes.

Let it cool and serve.
We usually have salad and garlic toast with our baked ziti.

Not only is this meal super quick and easy to make, but it is also inexpensive. I do buy the Great Value (WalMart) brand of pasta and cheese and Hunts brand of sauce. This meal, which ends up actually being 2 meals for our family, costs under $20 including garlic toast and salad.

Enjoy!

What is an easy and inexpensive meal that you make for your family?

  10. Your young men are very handsome. This meal looks to be a very filling one for three growing boys. I know exactly how hard it is to fill up those empty pits called stomachs of growing boys. Stopping by from That Friday Blog Hop. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!
