What I'm Reading

My Thoughts

Cole Taylor is first introduced in Fatal Judgment by Irene Hannon which is the story of his brother, Jake. It was the first book in the Guardians of Justice series and filled with suspense and romance. Deadly Pursuit is the second book in the series which shares his sister, Alison's story. Lethal Legacy is the third and final book in the series.

There are so many things that I loved about this story.

The close relationship that Cole shares with his brother and sister is a wonderful part of it. I especially enjoyed the typical brother-sister banter between Cole and Alison.

Cole was struggling with his faith due to a situation he was involved in through his job as a detective. That doubt was written so well and addressed by Kelly in a way that you could picture having that conversation with someone having that same struggle. I loved how their relationship bloomed during their journey to find the truth in her father's death.

The mystery part of the story was full of suspense and kept me reading late into the night so I could find out what was going to happen next. I am one of those people who can figure out the end easily with some stories, but this one was different. It kept me guessing until the very end.

If you love suspense with a good romance mixed in, this book is definitely for you. Start with the first in the series and read all three books.

About the Book

The police say her father's death was suicide. But Kelly Warren says it was murder--and she has new evidence that she believes proves it. Detective Cole Taylor doesn't put much credence in her claim, and nothing in his case review suggests foul play. But when Kelly ends up in the emergency room with a suspicious life-threatening medical condition, the incident strikes him as more than just coincidence. Digging deeper, he discovers she's linked to a long-ago crime. Is history repeating itself? And who wants Kelly silenced?

With her trademark high-intensity action and taut suspense, Irene Hannon closes out her Guardians of Justice series with a story of old grudges and budding romance that is sure to increase her substantial fan base.
