20 Questions with My KidMin Conference Friends

In less than a week I will be headed to Chicago for the very first Kidmin Conference hosted by Group. I am over the top excited to get together with others in Children's Ministry for this time of conversations and learning.

Several of my friends are speaking and I wanted to take this time to learn more about them and what they will be sharing at the conference.

Have you met Amy Dolan?
One of the things that I love about Amy is her passion for reaching out to families-both traditional and non-traditional. She just loves people.

Amy is the founder and leader of Lemon Lime Kids, a children's ministry consulting company that seeks to encourage churches to consider a fresh approach to leading and teaching children. She is also a huge part of what God is doing through What's in the Bible? which I highly recommend.

Amy is also one of the co-founders and co-conspirators of What Matters Now in Children's Ministry. WMNCM exists to spark conversations that help move children's ministry forward and provide a platform for collaborative development of kidmin resources.

Amy will be leading a workshop at the conference called Loving and Serving a New Generation of Families and here is a little about what she will be sharing.

In this interactive workshop, we'll discuss the many different definitions of families (single parent, divorced, widowed, gay/lesbian, two-parent), and discuss the ways our language and actions can either be helpful or harmful in loving and serving families in the church. Together, we'll create practical steps for reaching families.

One thing about Amy is that she will seek out people to have conversations with at conferences. She loves hearing what God is doing in Children's Ministry where you are. Find her first. I promise you will come away with a new friend.
I did.
You can learn more about Amy and from her on her blog and you can connect with her on Twitter.
