Missions Monday

I have started something new here on my blog - Missions Monday. I am going to be introducing you to some great charities that you and your family can get involved in. When I say get involved, I mean you can donate your money, time, and/or pray for these organizations who are doing amazing things to help people.

Today I would like to introduce you to

The Lord's Child is an organization dedicated to helping children of the world in every way possible. They serve not only the Appalachian regions of Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virgina, but also internationally in Haiti and Uganda.

So well said on the website:
"Motivated by our faith and love in Jesus Christ, we have chosen to serve the poor as a demonstration of our Father's unconditional love for all people. Our faith is at the heart of all we do. Foundational to our work is the commitment to a shared faith by staff and volunteers."

Here are a few ways for you to get involved:

Food Distribution in our Communities...

•Families receive a week's worth of groceries, including canned foods, beans, rice, cereals, pastas, non-perishables, etc.

•Families also receive laundry detergent, soaps, personal toiletries in the grocery basket.

Christmas in Appalachia...

•Each child experiences the JOY of CHRISTMAS when receiving NEW age-appropriate TOYS, a NEW WINTER COAT, sweatshirt, Christmas stocking and other goodies.

•Families receive a Food Basket.

•The products are given in a winter-wonderland experience, a holiday outreach to celebrate the BIRTH of our LORD for local children and their families.
