20 Questions with My KidMin Conference Friends

Tomorrow I will be headed to Chicago for the very first Kidmin Conference hosted by Group. I am over the top excited to get together with others in Children's Ministry for this time of conversations and learning.

Several of my friends are speaking and I wanted to take this time to learn more about them and what they will be sharing at the conference.

Have you met Gina McClain?
One of the things I love about Gina is her passion for families. She loves encouraging and equipping parents to pour into their children and be the spiritual leaders they are called to be. She believes that "If the living room is the hub of ministry, the neighborhood is different. If the neighborhood is different, the city is different. If the city is different, the church cannot be contained."

Gina is the Children’s Ministry Director at Faith Promise Church in Knoxville, TN. She is a speaker and contributing writer in three books - Collaborate: Family + Church, What Matters Now in Children's Ministry, and The Future of Children's Ministry.

In addition to speaking at one of the main sessions at the conference, Gina will also be leading a workshop called Working With Parents: What They Do and Don’t Need From Us and here is a bit about what she will be sharing there.

As kidmin leaders we understand that to reach kids, we must reach parents. And parents are always on the go. How do you equip parents for the journey of spiritually shepherding their kids? There are certain things parents need from us and certain things they don't need. This workshop focuses on the right things to implement when you connect with parents to equip them for spiritual impact.

If you have the opportunity to chat with Gina, she will instantly put you at ease, make you laugh, and you will come away from that conversation knowing that she listened well and shared her heart. You can learn more about Gina and from her on her blog and you can connect with her on Twitter.
