Missions Monday

I have started something new here on my blog - Missions Monday. I am going to be introducing you to some great charities that you and your family can get involved in. When I say get involved, I mean you can donate your money, time, and/or pray for these organizations who are doing amazing things to help people.

Today I would like to introduce you to Project Kenya.

Project Kenya serves along side the local church. Reaching out to the poor and oppressed as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love for all people.

They partner with 47 churches in Kenya in these ways:

  1. Sponsoring a child- Child sponsorship supports a child to achieve an education, and encourages them to reach their fullest potential. You can make the difference in the life of a child for $15-25 a month depending on the age of the child you sponsor.

  2. Feeding Programs- Every dollar donated to this project goes to feeding the children. The meal they receive is a fully balanced hot meal. They are also fed the word of God through a Bible Story, followed by a fun activity.

  3. Medical Programs-The goal is to offer medical care to all people and show compassion to all.

  4. Community Education- The focus is on training and education that empowers communities to become mature in their faith and deeds. A few offered are: leadership training seminars, micro-enterprise development, and community health education projects.
  From Project Kenya's website:

"We believe God has called us all to work together using our various talents and gifts, bringing lasting change in the lives of all people. We accomplish this through various community development programs.

We believe by everyone working together, and fully leaning upon God for direction and results, all things are possible."

Let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and truth. 1 John 3:16-20
