Malala Day - Standing for Girls Around the World

Today is Malala Day
A day that we unite to show our support to make possible
education for girls in Pakistan and children all over the world.

The day is named after a brave 14 year old girl named Malala Yousafzai.
Malala began speaking out about the importance of education for girls in Pakistan when she was 11 years old. Three years later she was shot in the head by the Taliban for this very reason. Malala is recovering from her injury, but has a long road of rehabilitation ahead of her.

Today we stand for her and the 32 million girls around the world
who are denied an education simply because they are girls.

Here's how you can help:

First, sign the petition to call on Pakistan to agree to a plan to deliver education to all its children, at IamMalala.org. On November 10, Gordon Brown, United Nations Special Envoy for Global Education, and his wife will deliver this petition to the Pakistani president.

You can also show your support and stand together by using your
Facebook account and Twitter to post #IamMalala on 11/10/12.

Will you join me in standing with these girls today?
